Australian singer-songwriter Sam Fischer has become known for his comforting and calming lyrics. Born near Sydney, he picked up music at the age of three after being inspired by a performance by Queenie. He could play the violin and saxophone, and write his own songs by the time he turned 12. He moved to the USA to study music at the Berklee College of Music, Boston in 2010. Intent on pursuing a career in music, he moved to Los Angeles post-graduation, where he became a part of the local a cappella scene and a backup singer for HOLYCHILD. He continued working on his own songs all the while and released his first single, "Lean," in 2016. He followed it up with the singles "Same Friends" and "Getting Older," and an appearance on Opia's track "Secrets." His debut EP Not a Hobby was first released in early 2018, followed by a re-release through RCA Records two years later. Some of his most popular songs include "Restless," "Getting Older," "Smoke" and "Same Friends."
