Bob Bowman, a native of Kansas, is an esteemed jazz bassist known for his remarkable talent and extensive collaborations. With a musical journey that began on piano and clarinet before transitioning to bass at the age of 12, Bowman's dedication and skill propelled him to join prestigious ensembles such as the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Orchestra and the Toshiko Akiyoshi-Lew Tabakin Big Band. Throughout his career, he has performed and recorded with renowned artists including Carmen McRae, Freddie Hubbard, and Karrin Allyson, while also making significant contributions to the vibrant jazz scene in Kansas City. Now residing in Montana, Bowman continues to travel back to the Midwest regularly, driven by the city's deep jazz history and the exceptional musicians that inspire him.
