The Beatniks were a British rock band formed in London in the late 1950s. The band was composed of lead vocalist and guitarist Tony Sheridan, bassist and vocalist John Lennon, drummer Pete Best, and rhythm guitarist George Harrison. The Beatniks were one of the first British rock bands to gain international recognition, and their music was heavily influenced by American rock and roll. The band released several singles, including "My Bonnie" and "Ain't She Sweet", which were both hits in the UK and the US. The Beatniks also released two albums, "The Beatniks" and "The Beatniks Volume 2", which featured a mix of original songs and covers of popular American rock and roll songs. The Beatniks' music was a major influence on the early British rock and roll scene, and their influence can still be heard in the music of many modern British rock bands.
