Ballet Arizona

Created in 1986, Ballet Arizona is the sum of three Arizona-based dance companies that were struggling to stay relevent due to a lack of funding and interest. The company fought to stay above water until Ib Andersen joined as Artistic Director in 2000. Andersen renovated the company and expanded its repertoire by adding classical pieces as well as his own works. After eliminating its debt in 2005, Ballet Arizona continues to flourish with its premier ensemble and blend of classical and contemporary choreography.
