Midlake is an alternative indie band from Denton, Texas that manages to weave in psychedelic traces into its folksy, acoustic sound. The band initially began as a funk/jazz band in 1999, and later moved away from the jazz scene in morphed into an indie rock band. Midlake draws inspiration from such artists as Jethro Tull, Radiohead and Bjork, while maintaining an original and experimental sound.
