Assembly of Light Choir

The Assembly of Light women's choir is an unconventional and dynamic group comprised of approximately twenty women from Providence, RI. Originating in late 2008, the choir was initiated by composer and singer Chrissy Wolpert, who invited a few women to her apartment to collaborate on her original songs. The initial gathering proved successful, leading to subsequent meetings and the formation of the choir. The Assembly of Light embraces a fluid composition, with a constantly evolving roster of women from diverse backgrounds, each possessing varying levels of vocal experience and training. The group prioritizes authenticity and self-expression, allowing its unique shape to organically emerge without pretense. Through their performances, the choir seeks to illuminate the darkness inherent in their music, infusing it with a sense of brightness and depth.
