Ashford & Simpson are an iconic American soul and R&B duo, consisting of Nick Ashford and Valerie Simpson. They are best known for their hit singles “Solid”, “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” and “Reach Out and Touch (Somebody’s Hand)”. They have released a total of 16 studio albums, including their debut album “I’ll Take You There” in 1974. Their music is characterized by their smooth harmonies, soulful melodies and passionate lyrics. Ashford & Simpson have been credited with writing and producing some of the most memorable songs of the 1970s and 1980s, including hits for Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye, Chaka Khan and many more. They have been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and have won numerous awards, including a Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.
