The Beatles cover band gimmick is hardly an untapped market in modern music. When the results are as well performed and authentic sounding as American English, however, it can justify the very idea of cover bands in general. The Chicago-based group mimics the various eras of the Fab Four, right down to the ever-changing shift in clothes, philosophies and musical styles. For three consecutive years, American English won the top prize amongst Beatles imitators at the annual Beatlefest, cementing the band's reputation for nailing every last detail of the legendary group's sound.
