Raised from a young age on a steady diet of all kinds of music and performing arts styles, it makes sense that Canadian artist Ambre McLean's music would wind up being so tricky to pin down. Working in and out of the fringes of jazz, blues, pop and folk, her hybrid approach is impressive in its ability to interchange genre elements into a cohesive style that is truly all her own. McLean's live solo performances rely heavily on looping, as she slowly builds layers of guitar, melodica, beats and her own multi-tracked vocals.
