Lostprophets is a British rock band from Wales that originally began in 1997 as side project to its members' hardcore punk band, Public Disturbance. Part of the then-emerging South Wales hardcore scene, the band easily captured the attention of the UK with various tours and even made an easy transition to western audiences after its 2000 debut album Thefakesoundofprogress, when the band signed to Columbia Records. Lostprophets has since released several other studio efforts packed with its alternative rock/post hardcore sound, including 2006's Liberation Transmission and 2012's Weapons.
