Miguel Rafael Martos Sánchez is a singer/songwriter and actor from Spain who is known simply as Raphael. Having pioneered his own style of modern Spanish music in the late 1960s and early 1970s with his wide-range vocals and engaging stage presence, he has served as a major influence for a generation of Spanish singers who followed in his footsteps. For more than five decades, his contributions to television, film, theater and music have made him a cultural icon in Europe as well as Latin America.
