Basia Trzetrzelewska is a Polish singer known for her jazzy approach to adult contemporary and vocal pop styles. Born in 1954, she began her career in the 1980s as a member of Matt Bianco, a Latin-infused project based out of the UK. By 1985, Basia had left the group in order to pursue a solo career. It didn't take her very long to find success, as her solo debut album Time and Tide became a huge hit and yielded chart-placing singles around Europe and in the US. After taking a nearly fifteen year break between albums, Basia returned in 2009, exposing her signature brand of cocktail lounge pop to a new crop of fans.
