Spelling Bee is a post punk duo from St. Louis, Missouri, that's composed of vocalist and drummer Joe Hess and guitarist and saxophonist Mabel Suen. With a chaotic, distorted sound driven by punk rock riffs and uplifted by unexpected sax solos, the band released its debut album Sweet Dreams, Strange Animal, with Apop Records in 2010.
