Machine is a funk band from New York City that owns a disco and soul-infused sound. Formed in 1977, the group released its eponymous debut album in 1979, followed quickly by 1980's Moving On, before disbanding in 1981. Nearly two decades later in 2009, Machine reformed with three of its founding members, Jay Stovall, Kevin Nance and Clare Bathe, and embarked on an international tour.
