About
Blackguard is a melodic death metal outfit from Montreal, Quebec, that initially formed in 2001 as Profugus Mortis. Though the band started off playing straightforward black metal, it quickly evolved its sound into a melodic variation of Scandinavian folk metal before dropping its debut album, So It Begins, in 2007. Blackguard continue to offer up a brutal fusion of death metal and folk metal on records, including 2013's Storm.
