Flobots

Blurring the lines between hip-hop and indie rock music, Flobots is an alterntaive rap/rock outfit that was conceived in Denver, CO by vocalist Jamie Laurie. The group slowly developed from a duo into full ensemble of artists including guitarist Andy Guerrero, violist Mackenzie Gault, bassist Jesse Walker, drummer Kenny Ortiz and trumpeter Joe Ferrone. Laurie was joined on vocals by MC Brer, and the seven-piece band recorded its debut album Fight with Tools as Flobots in 2007. Immediately attracting attention with its alternative sound and unconventional collection of instruments, Flobots filled voids in both the rock and hip-hop scenes by creating a symphonic rock/live hip-hop experience with soaring brass sections, hardened drum beats and quick-fire guitar riffs. Flobots released its third studio album titled The Circle in the Square, in 2012.
