Brenda Cochrane

Brenda Cochrane began singing professionally at the age of 12, performing in Glasgow clubs and opening for Marty Robbins at 14. She later became a teacher in Canada and Abu Dhabi, but continued to sing in local venues. She recorded her debut album, The Singer, with the English Chamber Orchestra, but it failed to reach a wide audience due to lack of promotion. Brenda auditioned for Opportunity Knocks and won in 1989 with a record-breaking number of votes. This led to a recording contract with Polydor Records and her first album, The Voice, went gold in 1990. She toured with Gene Pitney and received critical acclaim for her talent.
