Hubert von Goisern (born Hubert Achleitner) is an Austrian folk musician and singer/songwriter. Known as an influential figure in the evolution of the "Neue Volksmusik" (New Folklore Music) scene in his home country, he developed a devoted following thanks to his willingness to embrace both traditional and more experimental, forward-thinking elements in his music. In working to realize his trademark style, von Goisern has traveled all over the world, briefly living in spots as far-reaching as Canada and South Africa. His accordion playing, recognizable voice and ability to work comfortably within the confines of a number of different genres have made him a national treasure within Austria for over 20 years now.
