Dazaranha, often referred to as Daza, is a Brazilian rock band formed in Florianópolis in the early 1990s. Known for their unique fusion of rock and reggae, they incorporate prominent violin arrangements, which set them apart in the Brazilian music scene. Over the years, they have become one of the most influential bands in Santa Catarina. Their discography includes key albums such as Seja Bem Vindo (1996), Tribo da Lua (1998), and Paralisa (2007), the latter featuring collaborations with renowned artists like Jorge Ben Jor. In 2007, they modernized their sound by adding the brass section Trio Santo Amaro, further expanding their musical style. Dazaranha’s contributions to Brazilian rock were recognized in 2006 when they won the Claro Independent Music Award for Best Pop Album. Their live performances, including the recording of Dazaranha Ao Vivo (2010), continue to captivate audiences across Brazil.
