About
Formed in 1875, Somerset County Cricket Club is one of England’s first-class county cricket clubs that competes for the County Championship trophy. The club attained official first-class status in 1895 and plays its home games at County Ground, Taunton. The club has won many laurels including the Royal London One-Day Cup, NatWest Pro40 League, Benson & Hedges Cup and the Twenty20 Cup but the prestigious County Championship has remained elusive. International cricket legends like Sir Vivian Richards, Sir Ian Botham and Steve Waugh are a few notable alumni.
