ŠkWor, a Czech rock and heavy metal band from Prague, was formed in 1998 by Petr Hrdlička (vocals, guitar), Tomáš Kmec (bass), and František Vadlejch (drums), with Leo Holan (guitar) joining shortly after. Initially named Skwar, the band debuted with Mayday (2000) but rebranded as ŠkWor in 2001. They achieved significant success with their 2004 album Vyvolenej, which was certified gold. Their discography includes Amerika (2005), Loutky (2007), and Sobě věrnej (2023). Over the years, ŠkWor has been known for their controversial, socially critical lyrics and energetic live performances. They celebrated their 25th anniversary with a concert at Prague’s O2 Universum in 2023. The band has seen various lineup changes, including recent replacements of Martin Volák and Leo Holan with Jan Chudan. Their notable live releases include Natvrdo (2012) and 15 let – Praha Incheba arena (2014).
