Gerald Simpson, who performs and releases music under his A Guy Called Gerald guise, is an English producer and DJ who began his career in the acid house scene in the late-1980s. Influenced by Jamaican reggae rhythms and jazz fusion sensibilities, Simpson would go on to perform regularly at clubs before recording and releasing his 1989 debut album, Hot Lemonade.
