Niels Lan Doky was drawn to music from a very young age. His father was a classically trained guitarist. Doky's first instrument was his father's guitar. He started playing the piano at the age of eleven. He is one half of the band The Doky Brothers. He has collaborated with the likes of Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen, Pat Metheny, Woody Shaw and Charlie Haden. Doky debuted with the album Here or There in 1986. He has over thirty-five albums in his repertoire.
