Mono is a Japanese post-rock band that was formed in 1999. Spending its formative years playing shows and honing its characteristic sound, Mono eventually went on to release its debut album, Under the Pipal Tree, in 2001. Not a group to be pigeonholed into one particular style, Mono has kept its sound varied by incorporating elements of ambient, shoegaze and contemporary classical into its sonic fray.
