Starting her music experimentation as a drummer for alternative rock band Litterbug, Karima Francis is a singer/songwriter from the UK whose vocal range and unique inflection grabbed the attention of critics and fans at Manchester's In the City music event in 2006. The following year, Francis toured as a supporting act for artists such as James Morrison, and as headliner, drawing crowds with nothing but her voice and acoustic guitar. She released her debut album The Author, in 2009.
