Martyn Joseph is a singer/songwriter from Penarth, England who crafts a rootsy brand of Celtic folk music. With a style of songwriting focused on social lamentations and protest, he released his debut studio release, I'm Only Beginning, in 1983, to widespread acclaim, earning himself a deal with Sony Records. Over his decades-long career, Joseph released albums with Grapevine Records and eventually established his own imprint, Pipe Records, to maintain what was most important to him as an artist--total creative control. His first release under the label, Far From Silent, came in 1999, setting off what would be a busy decade for the artist, who would go on to regularly tour the UK, US and Canada throughout the 2000s.
