Galimatias, born Matias Saabye Køedt in Fredericia, Denmark, is an electronic music artist known for his atmospheric and downtempo sound. Starting his music journey as a teenager, he initially produced tracks for Danish hip-hop acts before releasing his first EPs, Luna Soul and Sunlight Reigns Supreme, in 2012. Galimatias gained international recognition in 2015 with the release of Urban Flora, a collaborative EP with American singer-songwriter Alina Baraz. Their track "Fantasy" became widely popular, with remixes by Felix Jaehn and others further boosting its success. Following Urban Flora, Galimatias took a break from the spotlight, returning in 2017 with his single "Let Me Know." In 2020, he released his studio album Renaissance Boy. His career reflects a desire to create unique and evolving soundscapes, consistently avoiding repetition in his music. Notable works include songs like "Pretty Thoughts," "Fantasy," and recent collaborations on The Island of Peach Bellini (2024).
