Keith Thorton is a hip-hop artist from The Bronx who goes by the name Kool Keith. After starting his career as a founder of the group Ultramagnetic MCs, he released his first solo album, Dr. Octagonecologyst, in 1996. The album, produced by Dan the Automator and Kutmasta Kurt, earned critical acclaim for its forward thinking beats and smart lyrics. He's since continued to maintain his golden-age style while also working with modern rock bands like Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
