Chasing Shade is a three-piece band out of Iowa City that is inspired by the eclectic modern crop of folk and country rock revivalists like Wilco, My Morning Jacket and The Avett Brothers. Combining mellow, straight-forward songwriting with sparsely effective instrumentation that includes electric and acoustic guitars, drums and bass, the group is just starting to find its legs within folk rock circles in the Midwest and plans to complete a full-length debut album in 2011.
