Tannhauser is a four-piece indie rock band from Sevilla, Spain. The group combines shoegaze-y guitar textures with snaky, winding bass lines that together with drummer Eduardo Escobar's tension-building drumming add up to solid instrumental indie rock in the vein of Stereolab and Tortoise. Occasionally, Tannhauser's songs will dip in tempo and break down into long, ethereal passages full of ambient guitars and lightly brushed percussion. The band has done well thus far in building up a solid following in various regions of Spain, leading to slots at notable music festivals such as Primavera.
