Emeralds

Though the three members of Emeralds first started playing music together in 2005 in the suburbs of Cleveland, Emeralds didn't properly form until 2006, when the trio decided to focus its musical endeavors on a band centered around creating electronic music that incorporates live improvisation into its sound. Highly influenced by early synthesizer work as well as their distinct outlooks on ambient music, the three members in Emeralds don't necessarily make songs that change or go anywhere--most of the band's songs are just instrumental progressions that showcase the group's electronic noodling tendencies. Sadly, the band announced they were breaking up in 2013.
