Two Wounded Birds is an indie pop/surf rock band from Margate, England that formed in 2008 out of the collective dream of its four members to forget East Kent's relatively dreary coastline in favor of the sun-drenched warmth of California's sandy beaches. Drawing from the more obligatory influences in the surf rock genre, Two Wounded Birds manages to infuse their own distinct indie pop surrealism into the jangly guitar rhythms and smart vocal harmonies that'll have listeners subconsciously reaching for their turtle wax. Two Wounded Birds' debut EP, Keep Dreaming Baby, is the band's pronouncement to the world (or to East Kent, at least) that some styles of music die hard, and that surf rock in particular still manages to remain relevant in today's gloomy world.
