Not to be confused with the London-based collective of visual artists of the same name, Young British Artists is a Manchester-based band that writes guitar-driven, straightforward rock songs full of reverb and lo-fi vocals. Formed in 2008 under the moniker Carousels, the four-piece soon realized that it needed a more ambitious name and altered it with the intention to demonstrate that anyone could be an artist. Since then, the band has spread this belief and its music throughout the UK, performing at various venues and festivals.
