Prize Pets is a Nottingham-based band that potentially takes its name from its hometown's "Prize Pets" contest, likely adopted as some type of commentary on suburbia. The four-piece creates art punk with a penchant for discordance and reverb-heavy surf guitars, lending it the qualities of a soundtrack to a surf horror film. A band that seems to be in its own world, PRIZE PETS' performances are carried out as though the group is performing for itself; however, this ignorance of its surrounding doesn't make the band standoffish, but instead showcases a group of musicians completely absorbed by their craft and enjoying every minute of it.
