Ed Sheeran is a mixed-genre singer/songwriter from Halifax whose fascinating mash-up of grime and acoustic folk has many scratching their heads in bemused wonder as they run out to buy tickets to his next concert. In 2009 alone, Ed Sheeran performed at over 300 gigs, a feat that only increased the songwriter's already tremendous success as a musically progressive force since emerging in 2005. Following Sheeran's second independent EP release, Loose Change, in 2010, word about the talented young singer/songwriter had already made its way across the Atlantic, and his excellent reputation was almost immediately ensured throughout the United States. Since being picked up by the renowned label Atlantic Records in 2011, Ed Sheeran's take on acoustic grime has taken his success to a whole new level.
