The project of two young Toronto-based musicians, Kidcity is a band formed in the practice rooms of the University of Toronto in 2010. Melding darkwave synth with haunting vocals and gritty production, the rather stylish duo calls its music "clip-hop," but fits in well with the darkwave scene centered in Los Angeles, thousands of miles away. By 2011, with just the release of a single, Kidcity had built a respectable amount of buzz and with the release of a full length will likely receive more widespread attention and acclaim.
