The Heartbreaks is a melodic indie rock group from the UK. Formed in 2009 in Lancashire, England, the band's charm lies in its members' youthful, irreverent take on uptempo pop rock that is punctuated with disco beats, jangly guitars and big, radio-friendly hooks. The four-piece embodies the sentimentality of being a somewhat aimless twenty-something, as lead singer Matthew Whitehouse croons his playful, sarcastic lyrics. The Heartbreaks landed spots touring with popular indie rock group The Pains of Being Pure at Heart just a year after its formation.
