Southern California singer/songwriter Matt Costa is known in part for his previous career as a professional skateboarder before turning to music. Costa takes his SoCal lifestyle as a guide for his music, writing light, easygoing pop music that is perfect for beach activities and sun. Costa is signed to fellow beach pop extraordinaire Jack Johnson's label, Brushfire Recordings, and he has carved out a particularly successful niche as a result.
