Mark Eliyahu, born on July 13, 1982, in Soviet Dagestan, is an Israeli kamancheh player and composer. He immigrated to Israel with his family in 1989 and, at 16, was deeply inspired by the music of kamancheh virtuoso Habil Aliyev. He moved to Baku, Azerbaijan, to study under Adalat Vazirov, which marked the beginning of his musical journey. Coming from a musical family, with his father a composer and his mother a violinist, Eliyahu has collaborated with prominent artists like Alim Qasimov and gained global recognition. His discography includes albums such as Voices of Judea (2006), Sands (2013), Mark Eliyahu (2016), and About Love (2022). He composed the soundtrack for the Emmy-winning series Tehran (2020), further elevating his status. Notable songs like "Derinlerde," "Journey," and "Tehran" showcase his emotive and transcendent style. Eliyahu’s music resonates widely, particularly in Turkey and among Iranian listeners.
