About

LeAnn Rimes has been in the limelight for nearly the entirety of her life. The Jackson, Mississippi native began taking singing lessons at the age of two and shortly thereafter performed in local talent shows, eventually working her way up to singing the national anthem at Dallas Cowboys football games by the age of 9. After nearly being cast in a Broadway rendition of Annie, the young songstress decided to stray from musical theater and focus on a singing career. With her father as her manager, Rimes finally caught the ear of songwriter and DJ Bill Mack, who decided Rimes should sing his song "Blue," which he'd originally written for Patsy Cline before she was killed in a plane crash. This single proved to be the catalyst for Rimes, and at the age of 13 she became the youngest artist to ever win a Country Music Association award. Rimes continued to release album after album of country pop backed by her powerful vocals, never failing to impress fans. While the singer has been surrounded by her fair share of scandal, she continues to maintain an impressively successful career that shows no sign of slowing anytime soon.
