Based out of Granada, José Ignacio Lapido, who often goes simply by Lapido, is a Spanish singer/songwriter best known for fronting the city's iconic band, 091. After the rock group disbanded in 1996, Lapido focused on his solo career, softening his approach a bit into light rock en Espanol territory, but with highly intelligent lyrics. Lapido impressed enough critics and gained enough of a following to be nominated for best rock album countless times, be voted into the "100 Granadinos of the 20th Century" as well as have a published book devoted solely to analyzing his lyrics.
