Kastelruther Spatzen is a schlager/folk music group from South Tyrol, Italy (a German speaking semi-autonomous province) and is considered, by and large, to be one of the world's leading acts in the genre. Since forming in 1976, Kastelruther Spatzen has released over twenty albums and several DVDs showcasing the group's unique brand of schlager that has taken the German-speaking world by storm. The group has also earned numerous folk music awards over the course of its prolific career, with many considering the iconic Tyrolean group to be one of German folk's most noteworthy acts in existence.
