Consistently compared to the jazz greats of the 1940s, Parlato possesses a controlled smokiness in her voice and is able to sing wordless vocals that sound more like instrumentals--almost a more melodic version of scat. The vocalist consistently garners awards from prominent jazz publications and sells out venues around the world.
