Die Cubaboarischen is a folk music band from Bavaria, Germany that has successfully managed to fuse Bavarian folk music with the red hot rhythms of Latin America--particularly Cuba. The resulting music, comes across as a distinct combination of polka and salsa that sounds amazingly inspired when heard live. The band members explain that their idea to combine the two disparate forms of music was difficult to pull off at first due to their lack of familiarity with Latin genres of music. However, once a certain level of mastery was obtained, Die Cubaboarischen was then able to combine the two forms into a style of Latin-infused Bavarian folk music that has become popular in Germany.
