The Eastern Illinois Panthers represents the athletic programs and intercollegiate teams of Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois. An NCAA Division I school, the university competes in the Ohio Valley Conference and the Summit League (for swimming and men's soccer only). Eastern Illinois fields a number of men's and women's teams in sports such as baseball, basketball, cross country, football, volleyball, swimming, soccer, golf and rugby. Notable alumni from the university include retired MLB player Tim Bogar and NFL quarterback Tony Romo.
