When two students studying at Penn State bonded over a shared appreciation of music and decided to form a band in 1998, they laid the foundations for the jam rock outfit New Monsoon. After relocating to San Francisco and enlisting the help of other musicians, to fill out the group, New Monsoon started playing an impressive amount of shows and festivals to help build a reputation for itself as one of the more dedicated touring outfits in the jam circuit. All the time spent on the road, honing its instrumental chops, paid off and the rich sonic textures that the group creates while on stage are something to truly marvel at--especially the impressive talent of lead guitarist Jeff Miller.
