Pilli Bebek, a Turkish rock band formed in 1993 by Cem Kısmet and Ahmet Başbağlar, originated in Ankara and later moved to Istanbul. Known for their unique sound blending rock, heavy metal, Turkish art music, and Barcarolle, the band took its name from the children’s show Torchy the Battery Boy (Pilli Bebek in Turkish). Pilli Bebek gained widespread recognition for composing the music for the hit Turkish TV series Behzat Ç., with songs from their album Olsun (2007) becoming synonymous with the show. The band’s debut album Uyandırmadan (1999) included nine tracks and a reinterpretation of "Malabadi Köprüsü." Over the years, they have released several albums and singles, including Behzat Ç. Songs (2012) and Elektro Akustik Konstelasyon (2018). The band has undergone several lineup changes, but Cem Kısmet remains the constant member, driving their continuous creative evolution.
