The Millipede is a metal/punk rock band from Austin, Texas that is striving to bring to prominence a distinct style of music that the members of the band like to call "nerd rock." When one listens to the music of The Millipede itself, the sound comes across like a fairly conventional heavy metal act. However, when one listens to the subject matter of the band's songs, one hears references that range from Captain Kirk of Star Trek fame to the complicated rules of Dungeons & Dragons.
