The Groundwork Music Orchestra is an indie folk/pop band from Austin, Texas that is part of the larger Groundwork Music Project, which seeks to provide free music education to preschool-aged children. Led by the project's founder Neal Kassanoff, The Groundwork Music Orchestra's oeuvre ranges from old American folk tunes to modern pop that appeals to both children and adults. The members of the Orchestra are music educators at heart and know their craft from the ground up. Audiences looking for a controversial, genre-defying act should look elsewhere--The Groundwork Music Orchestra looks to please everybody, but more importantly, hopes to educate children on the wonderful art of music.
