Dan Michaelson is a folk singer/songwriter from London, England who is perhaps best known for his work with the British alternative rock band, Absentee. Since branching out on his own with his band The Coastguards in 2009, Michaelson is already seeing a whole slew of attention from online music blogs, as well as critical acclaim for his band's 2009 debut album, Saltwater. With a style that has been described by critics as intense, spellbinding and at times heartbreaking, the music of Dan Michaelson and the Coastguards is already being compared with that of some of the legendary greats of folk music.
